The Hills New Beginnings: Brody Jenner Slammed For Misgendering of Caitlyn Jenner Brandon Defend

On the premiere of The Hills: New Beginnings Brody Jenner in a confessional explained how his dad had transitioned from Bruce Jenner to Caitlyn Jenner. While he was speaking the hunky DJ kept referring to Caitlyn as him.

“My dad, he also became a woman, don’t wanna forget about that one! I had been dating Kaitlynn Carter for four-and-a-half years, and my dad came out and said that he wanted to be called Caitlyn. Two Caitlyns!” Brody explained during the episode.

Twitter was in an uproar over Brody misgendering his father. Social media came after him calling the reality TV star incorrect, insensitive and ignorant, especially since he should known the pronoun Caitlyn like to have referenced when speaking about her.

There were a couple of Tweets that did defend Brody or rather attempted to explain his misgendering Caitlyn.

“Okaaayyyy, only on episode one and I can’t tell if Brody is purposely not referring to his dad (Caitlyn Jenner) using feminine pronouns…or is he just speaking about Caitlyn’s past life as Bruce and using male pronouns,” wrote Monique.

Although neither Brody nor Caitlyn commented on what became a huge issue to social media, Brody’s older brother Brandon Jenner did jump to his defense.

“Accidents happen, and people slip up, and you shouldn’t shame them for it. There’s not an ill intention,” Brandon shared during an interview with Channel Q Radio’s Let’s Go There.

Brandon went on to explain he is not an expert on the subject either. He revealed Caitlyn shared with her kids that they can still call her dad because that is what she will awls be to them.

Social media was not thrilled with Brody Jenner misgendering Caitlyn during The Hills: New Beginnings premiere episode. In the past, Brody has referenced the strained relationship with his father.

However, the state of their relationship since Bruce became Caitlyn is unknown. Neither one of them speaks about the other one that much and Caitlyn was a no show at Brody’s wedding last year.

Since no one knows the kind of relationship the two have, it is kind of harsh to judge Brody. Maybe Caitlyn is ok with Brody using the word “he” who knows. They are family; it is their business, not everyone else’s right?
