He moved to Camden Town, London when he was a teenager.
Tyler James released his first album, The Unlikely Lad, on August 29, 2005, and it comprised of songs such as Why Do I Do?, Your Woman, Drunk All Night, One Place Left to Go, Gone Are the Days, Dead or Alive, and On My Own.
He appeared as a contestant in the first installment of the television talent show, The Voice UK, in 2012 and wrapped up his journey as the joint runner-up behind series winner Leanne Mitchell.
His 2nd album, A Place I Go, was released on October 29, 2012, and it included tracks like Same Old Song, Single Tear, I Don’t Give a Damn, Prisoner in the Rain, Written in Stone, and Heart Shaped Hole. The album was ranked at number #47 in the UK Albums Chart.
